About Bill: 
Bill's father and grandfather taught him how to hunt and fish, and how to do it right. From the age of three years old, Bill had a fishing pole or bb gun in his hands until he was able to handle the bigger toys. Bill took up bowhunting in 2004 and now, you will hardly ever catch him without his bow.

Bill is an instructor for the hunter education (IHEA) and bowhunter education (IBEP) programs in North Carolina. is a lifetime member of the North Carolina Bowhunter's Association (NCBA), District 3 Wildlife Representative for the NCBA, and associate member of Pope and Young. He is also an official measurer for both the NCBA and Pope and Young.

Bill attended North Carolina State University majoring in journalism and industrial engineering. Through the years Bill freelanced in both writing and journalism and began writing a weekly outdoors column for the Yancey County News (N.C.) and Wilson Times (N.C.) in 2011. His column is now carried by 10 newspapers throughout North and South Carolina. He is also writes a featured paddling column for North Carolina Sportsman Magazine. He has contributed to various regional and national magazines on a regular basis and won several awards for writing and photography.

Bill's passion for the outdoors has lead to North Carolina State bowhunting/bowfishing records of 5 different species at one time or another. He was named the 2012 North Carolina Bowhunter of the Year.

Bill is prostaff for Johnson Outdoors (Old Town Canoes and Kayaks), Ben Pearson Outdoors, Shrewd Archery, Carbon Express, Bohning Archery and HHA Sports.
