Jim Cyr

Home Base: Halifax, Nova Scotia

About Jim: Ever since moving to Nova Scotia, I've reconnected with the outdoors. Growing up within two hours from Mt. Katahdin or the Miramichi River and never going in my youth; It was time to correct that situation; all this wilderness and waterways at my fingertips and I'm not there. Time spent exploring via geocaching turned into volunteering at my local ground search & rescue for a few years. I got into geotourism and partnered with several National Parks across Canada exploring new activities.

That has led me to focus what I call "cross-over" activities. Hiking, running, backcountry camping and all the gear required. Lately, my interest has been with historic highways & waterways from our past. Paddling and portaging along rivers, lakes to get to your campsite.

I look forward sharing my adventures with you!
