Windy Sundy

I sent out an text letting a few guys know I was going to hit Pompano beach in the morning. I have been looking at the weather all week and knew it was going to be a windy day. I didn't care, I was determined to get out no matter what. I hit Danny, Leandro, and Brandon up and told them I'll be at Ace's around 6am. Danny suggested I call Ace to get my name on the list. I told Danny whatever they'll have bait LOL. Boy was I wrong! Danny called me and said "I'm getting the last 3 gogs! I told you to call in advance to get your name on the list!" Because Danny joke with me so much I thought he was joking until he said it again. Danny told me to call Leandro because he's at another bait shop that has gogs. I called Leandro and he gave me the location. They were selling gogs for $7.00 each. After I got there Brandon called me and I told him where to meet me.

Now that I have my 3 gogs it's time to hit the beach. We get there the sky was gray and it didn't look like a smart idea to go out. I was thinking about thunder and lightening, but I have a few screws loose so we pushed on. I meet two other guys that Danny brought with him. All though the wind was screaming like a baby wanting milk there was no surf at all. That got me really excited and just knew today would be the day I get a big king, my first wahoo, or my first sail. I have the right bait, hooks, line, rod, and reel so like spong bob I said "I'm ready I'm ready".

Me and Brandon were the first 2 on the water and I notice immediately that we were being pushed out fast LOL. That didn't really concern me at first until I thought about coming back in. We're on the water right before the sun tries to come up and all I can think about is "It's nice to be on the water". Me and Brandon waited for everyone else to get in the water so we can go out. By the way, we look back and see Danny flying our way without him paddling at all and we're like "It's not that windy to move him that fast" Welp that's because he modified his kayak with a trolling motor LOL. At least we know if one of us can't make it back in we can call on Danny to pull us LOL.

Around 7:49am in 150ft of water Brandon line screams and I do mean screams. We all was like Sail, no it's a king, no it's a wahoo. None of us thought it would be a dang bonito LOL. That was the last thing I wanted to see hahahaha. After he reeled his bonito in I get hit hard on my Victory Lure 5oz in 200ft. I was like YES I'm on. This fish was fishing hard and my mind was racing on what it could be "Tuna, King, Wahoo? Please not a Bonito" As I saw color I thought it was a big tuna. Welp you already know what it was LOL. Another DAMN Bonito. They're good for fight, but I wanted something better than that. ALthough it was the biggest Bonito I caught so far, I still was disappointed. The day turned out to be a beautiful, sunny, and fish catching day. Danny hooked a 20lbs bft, Leandro lost a nice king, I caught 2 bonitos, trigger fish, and got cut off twice, and Brandon hooked up with a shark and lost a few. One of the other guys caught a nice bonito as well. In all it was a good day to be on the water. Video coming soon. Here's a picture on the bonito I caught.
